TCG Time Corrected Gain in Ultrasonics
TCG (Time Corrected Gain) is an advanced function of ultrasonic flaw detectors that automatically applies a gain correction as a function of time — that is, of the distance travelled by the signal. Unlike the classic DAC curve, which is only a visual reference, TCG alters the signal itself, normalising echo amplitudes at every depth.
In this section we bring together articles on how to use TCG in Dakota flaw detectors, and how it fits together with DAC and DGS-AVG in inspection procedures.
Dakota instruments with TCG
Dakota FX70-DL — portable flaw detector with built-in TCG, DAC and DGS-AVG.
Dakota FX81-DL — benchtop version with dedicated software.
