MultiUI is the Windows interface software that drives the Dakota MultiMax. It is not an optional accessory: the instrument has no keypad and no on-board controls, so MultiUI is the only way to configure it and to read its measurements.
- ✓ The only control interface of the MultiMax, which has no keypad
- ✓ Configuration of the measurement parameters for each bolt
- ✓ Management of the 4 multiplexed channels of a single module
- ✓ Management of several stacked modules to increase the channels
- ✓ Measurement display platform
- ✓ Direct USB-C connection, Windows platform
The Dakota MultiMax is an unusual instrument: it has no control display, no buttons, and it is not used in the hand. It is a module that stays installed on the plant and works without an operator. Everything normally done on the keypad of a thickness gauge — setting the material, defining the gate, zeroing, reading — is done on the MultiMax from the computer.
MultiUI is that computer. It configures the parameters of each monitored bolt, drives the switching between the four channels and, when there is more than one module, manages them together as a single system. Without MultiUI the MultiMax cannot be used: that is why it appears here as a catalogue entry in its own right and not as a footnote to the instrument’s page.

Need help choosing the right product?
The software concerns the bolt tension monitoring line only. Anyone using a BT1-DL or a BT2-DL does not need it: those instruments have their own interface and are used on their own.
Position among the Dakota software
| Software | What it is for | Instruments |
|---|---|---|
| MultiUI | configuration and reading of the MultiMax | MultiMax |
| DakMaster™ | analysis, statistics and inspection report | thickness gauges and flaw detectors |
| DakView 4 | data transfer and setup files | models with data logger |
What it is for

- Configuration of the instrument: measurement parameters for each monitored bolt
- Management of the 4 channels multiplexed on a single module
- Management of several stacked modules, to increase the overall number of bolts under control
- Display platform for the measurements, since the instrument has no control display of its own

Yes. A single MultiMax module has 4 channels, but several modules can be stacked and managed together by MultiUI, increasing the overall number of monitored channels.
No. MultiUI concerns the MultiMax alone, which is a continuous monitoring instrument driven by a PC. The BT1-DL and BT2-DL monitors have their own interface and are used independently.
Windows. The connection to the instrument is made through a USB-C port direct to the PC.
