API 570 Piping Inspection

The API 570 standard (Piping Inspection Code) governs the inspection, repair, alteration and rerating of in-service piping in refineries, chemical plants and oil & gas installations. It defines inspection intervals, risk classes (TML — Thickness Measurement Locations) and inspector qualifications.

This section brings together technical guides and application cases for the ultrasonic measurement of residual thickness on piping in accordance with API 570: from the selection of measurement points through to data management and the calculation of the corrosion rate.
Dakota instruments for API 570 inspections

Dakota CMX Series — corrosion gauges with A-Scan to discriminate echoes from internal pitting.
Dakota MX2-DL — A-Scan, B-Scan and data logger for structured TML inspection plans.
Dakota CMX10-DL — top of the range with all functions: A-Scan, B-Scan, ThruPaint™ and extended storage.
