En mesurant le temps \u00e9coul\u00e9, et en connaissant la vitesse de propagation dans le mat\u00e9riau, on obtient une distance. De cette id\u00e9e d\u00e9coulent aussi bien la mesure d&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur que la recherche de d\u00e9fauts internes.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Autour de ce principe se sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s des modes de mesure diff\u00e9rents, chacun n\u00e9 pour r\u00e9soudre un probl\u00e8me pr\u00e9cis : ignorer un rev\u00eatement, mesurer \u00e0 travers une surface corrod\u00e9e, lire des \u00e9paisseurs tr\u00e8s faibles, \u00e9valuer l&rsquo;amplitude d&rsquo;un \u00e9cho \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes profondeurs.
